Re-soling rock shoes |
Posted off on Saturday, arrived back on Wednesday.
Soles replaced and hole in toe repaired. Quoted price includes
repairs and return postage. Have used Feet First in Chesterfield
before who also provide a very good service, however, this time round
Cheshire Shoe Repairs were a lot cheaper and their service and quality
of repair was excellent.

Boat trip to St Kilda |
A professionally run outfit, not just a couple of local
yahoos with a boat. Boat (42') has all modern electronics and
safety equipment and they look after you well. For trip to St
Kilda, sent off a £60 deposit and true to his word, Seamus phoned about
2 days beforehand to say that the trip was on. After landing on St
Kilda, rather than heading straight back, boat does a trip round the sea
stacks with all the gannet colonies on. This aspect isn't
mentioned in their literature and is in fact the highlight of the trip.
Guys are also very knowledgeable on bird and marine life. Be warned
though, even on a calm day, on the trip to St Kilda, sea sickness is a
distinct possibility so don't eat a big breakfast. Recommended.

I always use Headley Tyres as they're the cheapest tyre
place around and the service there is very good. The price they
quote is the price you pay inc. VAT, valve etc. My wife had
new tyres and the tracking adjusted in Nov. Unfortunately when
they adjusted the tracking they didn't adjust it so that the steering
wheel was dead centre when the wheels were straight ahead. She
took it back the next week and they sorted it there and then, no
questions asked.

Ordered a new camera for my mum from Amazon and had it
delivered to her. She lives out in the sticks. At the first
attempt at delivery she wasn't in but no card was left. The 2nd
time they couldn't find the house and at the 3rd attempt they said no
one was in (wrong, they were) and again no card was left. Phoned
up and they said that of course they tried to deliver to the right
house. Didn't argue and arranged for it to be delivered to local
post office (they said not having the card wasn't a problem so long as
you had ID) My mum phoned the post office to check it was there
before going to pick it up. Post office said it was there and so
was the post man and he'd take it to her, which he did. Bottom
line, total incompetence followed by exemplary customer service.

Ordered 43 t-shirts for climbing club. On
collection was 6 short. Said he'd sort it and apologised for not
checking order before I picked it up. A phone call every week for
the next six weeks resulted in excuse after excuse and now in Dec
still no t-shirts and no refund for the missing shirts. Not
recommended.

would, fixed the leak, charged what they said they'd charge. I'd
use them again.

Used them before in old house for windows, was very
happy with them. Cheapest quote so went for them for a patio door.
Had a few problems. First off they fitted the door (inc. taking
out wall and moving radiator) but they pointed out the frame was cracked
and they'd have to come back and change it - which they did, only to
find that was cracked as well. The third frame wasn't cracked, it
was the wrong type! At the 4th attempt - perfect. Did give a
discount on account of the messing about so no major complaints (and you
don't pay till the job's done). Recommended.

Did an extension and conservatory. Quotation was
competitive. Started job when he said he'd start, took as long as
he said, cleaned up every evening, charged same as on on estimate and 4
years later everything's still standing and no problems so a good job.
